This was a fascinating article. I’d heard of people going to Mexico for dental work – but flying to Germany for stem cell treatments? Seems like there are more medical options than ever.

This trend will increase as US health costs continue to spiral our of control, and as the quality of care continue to improve outside of the US. Many destinations right now parallel US care in terms of quality of facilities and quality of physicians – and with much lower prices. Safe travel destinations and protection of the integrity of medical records are paramount to making this a continued success.

True they are not always safe, but most commercially available PHR’s (like customized USB devices)generally have multiple levels of security available.

Hmm, I didn’t know that this health tourism still exists. I thought the government has taken steps to end it. Anyway, so long as they (the tourists) are paying for it, I don’t have any problem with it.

Thanks for this blog post.

It makes my fears of online medical data sharing between agencies increase. This isn’t the first time I saw something of this sort. A while ago, another blogger wrote that their credit card purchase details were found online.

I think it’s a great idea to have an alternative to sending confidential documents via overnight services. Good to know there is a company out there who can secure send immediately without being so expensive.
